A preliminary finding into last month's Air India plane crash has suggested the aircraft's fuel control switches were turned off, starving the engines of fuel and causing a loss of engine thrust shortly after takeoff.

ALPA India President Captain Sam Thomas has urged the government to include them in the ongoing probe into the crash. According to the AAIBs preliminary report, both fuel control switches supplying fuel to the engines of AI Flight 171 were turned off in quick succession,
